ABOUT ICH

  • ICH is a 65+ year pediatric teaching hospital founded by Dr. K.C. Chaudhuri, the doyen of Indian Pediatrics, and is the very 1 st pediatric institute in India.
  • ICH provides state of the art medical treatment to disadvantaged children from all over Eastern India at heavily subsidized charges.
  • With 250 plus beds, ICH treats over 75000 children annually, over 30% for free.
  • Specialized departments like Nephrology, Endocrinology, Pediatric Surgery etc.
  • Smile Train - Over 4300 free operations done for cleft lip & palate.
  • Fully equipped pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and neonatal care unit (NICU), equipped with modern mechanical ventilators and multichannel monitors.
  • Dedicated pediatric cancer research and rehabilitation centre.
  • ICH offers MD, DCH, DNB and Ph.D. courses under WBUHS, recognized by Medical Council of India and DMLT course under WB State medical faculty.

The hospital has undergone tremendous wear and tear in the last many decades and is bursting at the seams with number of patients having increased by >50% in last 4 years alone.

Upgrading and expansion of various specialty departments and purchase of advanced diagnostic equipment is imperative to offer state of the art treatment.
